Lawyer Ntow Fianko questions payment of Ex-Gratia to Kofi Manu

Ex-Ghana Division One League chairman Kwame Ntow Fianko has criticized the FA for doling out an unspecified amount to non-Executive Committee member Kofi Manu as Ex-gratia.

The payment to the former Aduana Stars Chief Executive received widespread condemnation in the local media.

Reports had claimed the FA Status committee member benefited from the controversial ex-gratia despite not being a member of the powerful Executive Committee.

Manu is reported to have proposed the idea of ex-gratia payment to members, leading to the decision to pay him a percentage of the amount.

Former head of the country’s second-tier league Kwame Ntow Fianko says the FA got it wrong.

“It is wrong for anyone who proposed the ex-gratia to become a beneficiary of the amount that was approved by Congress. Nobody can convince me,” he told Accra-based Happy FM

But, this is something that must be discussed at another forum.”

Each member of the committee pocked a staggering $15,000 as ex-gratia for their contribution to the game during their four year tenure.
