Lawal re-elected chairman of ERFA

The newly-elected Chairman of the Eastern Regional Football Association (RFA), Mr Abdul Lawal has pledged his commitment to improve football and its administration in the region.

He said the region has not fared badly, but believed that there was the need to do more to improve and promote the game.

Mr Lawal made the remarks after his re-election as the Chairman of the Eastern Regional Football Association in Koforidua.

He indicated that the Association would only succeed if there was unity among stakeholders of the game in the region.

He assured the media of an open administration, and journalists to feel free to call on the RFA for any information or clarification.

Mr Kofi Dua-Adonteng, Vice-Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Election Committee, said over the years, Eastern Region had contributed immensely to the development of football.

He expressed the hope that the trend would be revived under the new administration of Mr Lawal.

Mr Richard Obletei, Chairman of the GFA Election Committee, said the development of football in the Eastern Region would require the full co-operation and support of both RFA executives and the clubs.

Mr Lawal was elected unopposed, because at the close of nominations, he was the only candidate who had filed his nomination for the position.
