Gold regalia belonging to the Kwahu-Pepease traditional area in the Eastern region has been stolen.

The stolen gold regalia worth thousands of Ghana cedis includes two bracelet, a Chain, and necklace which belongs to the stool.

Confirming the incident to Starr News, the Nkonguasufohene of Kwahu -Pepease, Nana Abankwah Ansong said, the regalia were stolen from his room when he was in a bathroom.

He suspects his nephew, Kwaku Asare, 31, who has now been declared wanted by the Police for stealing the traditional items.

According to him, a complaint has subsequently been lodged at the Abetifi district Police command to assist in investigating the incident.

The suspect is currently at large.

The stolen regalia has brought uneasy calm in the traditional council.

ASP Kumah, the Abetifi Police commander confirmed to Starr News that, all efforts to get the suspect has proved futile.

He explained that the suspect, Kwaku Asare, is a Spare Parts Dealer at Abossey Okai in Accra, however, he has been assisting at the Pepease palace.

According to the Police, information picked up indicates that, the suspect is planning to leave the country.
