Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko will travel for a preseason training exercise in Libya on Thursday. Ghanafans.com can confirm.

The Porcupine Warriors have received an invitation from Libyan Champions Ahly Tripoli for an international friendly ahead of the 2015/16 season.

Kotoko who will be engaging in the GHALCA G6 tournament will divide the team into two with 16 players together with assistant coach Michael Osei embarking for the friendly in the North African country while the others under the guidance of head coach David Duncan stay behind for the six-team tournament which begins on Thursday at the Essipong Stadium in Sekondi.

The former Ghana Champions have been impressive in their preparation exercise having won all their preseason matches with a latest 5-0 thumping over Serbian Club FK Jagdina in an anniversary match at the Babayara Sports Stadium last Sunday.

Kotoko’s sworn rivals Accra Hearts of Oak suffered defeat at the hands of the Libyan Club in a similar friendly few weeks ago.
