Management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko will Thursday December 10, 2015, organise an orientation for new and old players on issues of common interest for next season’s Premier League.

Kotoko said the orientation forms part of their preparations for the 2015/16 season.

The Porcupine Warriors have signed more than 10 players for the upcoming season.

Kotoko’s Greater Accra representative, Edmund Ackah, told asantekotokosc.com that “this is important for us because usually, when new players come, expectations are high. What we have observed is that a misunderstanding or misinterpretation of these expectations affects performance. This eventually impacts negatively on outcome of matches.”

“We want to put in place measures to curb that. It’s necessary that management and the coaches sit with the players and interact on issues of common interest. We believe having such a programme will offer us the chance to let the players know what’s up for grabs in the new season, how they could get it, and why we must get it,” he said.

The club said such orientation is not new and has been held in the past, with a focus on how to deal with fear and manage high expectations, as well as developing and building on self-confidence, nutrition, rules of the game, the media, among others.
