Komfo Anokye Hospital Gets Surgical Equipment

Kumasi, - Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) has taken delivery of surgical equipment valued at more than 18 million cedis for the Plastic Surgery and Burns Unit. They were a donation from the Dundee, Glasgow Rotary Club in the

United Kingdom (UK) and was made through the Rotary Club of Kumasi. Dr Emmanuel Harry Tawiah, out-going president of the Rotary Club of Kumasi, who made the presentation on behalf of the donors, hoped they would be of tremendous use to the hospital. Professor Albert P. Asafo-Agyei, Chief Administrator of KATH who

received them, disclosed that apart from the donation, the UK-based club was also providing overseas training in plastic and reconstructive surgery for medical staff of the hospital at a cost of 17 million cedis. Already, one doctor and two nurses have benefited from the training. Dr Arthur MacGregor Morris, a consultant in plastic and reconstructive surgery and a representative of the Dundee, Glasgow club, who was at the presentation ceremony, gave assurance that they would continue to support KATH's plastic surgery project.
