Judgement Debts Commission resumes sittings

The commission of inquiry established by President John Mahama to inquire into Judgement Debt payments and other related matters will resume public sittings on Monday June 10.

The commission will continue sitting on Tuesday June 11 and Wednesday June 12.

A statement copied to the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday and signed by George William Dove, Public Relations Officer of the commission, said eight representatives of various organizations will appear before the commission, to assist in its work.

Those to appear are the head of International Tobacco (Ghana) Company Limited, the head of Architectural Engineering Services Limited (AESL), Tamale –Northern Region, the Head of Kae (Ghana) Limited, Director of Banking, Bank of Ghana and the Managing Director, Ghana Water Company Limited.

The rest are, the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General’s Department, the Solicitor General, Latex Foam Rubber Product Limited, the Head of the Lands Valuation Division and the Lands Commission

The statement said those summoned before it were at liberty to appear before the commission with their lawyers.

It urged anyone who wished to testify or volunteer information to report at the commission’s office, to provide their statements for them to be given scheduled dates for them to give evidence.

“All those who intend to testify or volunteer information to the Commission but are unable to be present in person are requested to submit a memoranda to the Commission as they would be treated confidentially”, the statement said.
