The Niger Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Abdul Adamu has visited Abura Dunkwa following disturbances that led to the burning of five houses belonging to Niger nationals.

The ambassador visited the bereaved family and consoled them on the unfortunate death of the 56 year old security guard.

Addressing the media after his visit, the Ambassador said he was extremely sad about the happenings that has led to many destructions.

"To kill someone like that is indeed sad and that's why I am asking the police to investigate the matter thoroughly to ensure that justice takes its course," he said.

The ambassador called for calm as investigative agencies of the state work to unravel the mystery surrounding the disturbances.

"I am advising my people to be disciplined because Ghana upholds the rule of law. I am urging calm. Cool down, everybody. Justice shall be served," he assured.

He added, "it's a sad situation that has happened because Ghana is a peaceful country. Ghana is their second country after their home country Niger." He asked the police to intensify their investigations to bring the culprit to book.

The DCE for Abura Asebu Kwamankese and chairperson of the District Security Council (DISEC), Aba Hagan asked the Niger residents in Abura Dunkwa to continue their work without fear as the police will do everything possible to arrest the culprit.

She said, the people have lived in peace with them all this while until the unfortunate incident and this matter should not bring enmity between them. The Niger ambassador was accompanied by the Central Regional, Kwamena Duncan and the Regional police commander, Paul Awini.
