Ghana coach Avram Grant has held initial talks with Atletico Bilbao striker Inaki Williams over representing the Black Stars, GFA communications director Ibrahim Sannie Daara has revealed.

The 21-year old hotshot has been in superb form for the Basque club this season and represented Spain at U-21 level but Daara told FootyGhana that the Israeli has started what he called preliminary conversations about a potential switch.

Williams was born in Spain to a Ghanaian father and Liberian mother and has represented Spain at junior level. But under FIFA rules, he can still switch to Ghana since he has not played at competitive level for the main Spanish side.

He has been in great form for Bilbao, scoring for them in both La Liga and the Europa League as well for Spain’s U-21 side against Georgia. His best goal this season was a stupendous flick and finish for Bilbao in La Liga against Espanyol.
