I'm Not Rawlings' Lawyer -Kumbuor

Member of Parliament for Lawra/Nandom, Dr. Benjamin Kumbuor, has said it is wrong for a section of the media to assume that he is the legal adviser to ex-President Rawlings.

According to him, he was only called to head a team of lawyers, advising the former President on the Adabuga issues and others, and this, by no means, show that he is the legal adviser to the ex-President.

Dr. Kumbour disclosed this in an interview with the paper yesterday.

His response emanated following a question as to whether he intends taking legal action against Major Kojo Boakye Djan (Rtd) over certain claims he made on radio about the conduct of ex-President Rawlings, particularly for overthrowing an institutionally established regime in the Third Republic.

Boakye Djan had described the former President as a “Walking criminal” who had committed treason, infringed the 1960 Criminal Code and Armed Forces Act of 1962.

Dr. Kumbuor said, he cannot take any action against Maj. Boakye Djan until he has been instructed to do so.
