The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency is voting 25% of his salary, should he become MP, as seed money to set up an Education Trust Fund to enhance education in the area.

Speaking on Starr Chat, Wednesday, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah said the money will represent seed capital for the Akyem-Mansa Education Trust Fund to ensure a lot of children are enrolled in school as well as make available teaching and learning materials.

The ace broadcaster said he hopes to use part of the MP’s Common Fund to “employ a doctor for the district and give him a vehicle” to take care of the health needs of the constituents.

The father of two said he is optimistic of retaining the seat for the main opposition party in the Eastern region and will not disappoint the youth.

According to him, he is not into politics for “personal gain or self-aggrandizement.”

“We have reached a certain point where a lot more people need to get involved and not just complain. If you claim things are not going right I don’t think it is enough for all of us to be spectators,” the 33-year-old former host of Joy FM’s Super Morning Show told host Bola Ray.
