Fit-again Ghana defender Isaac Vorsah says he did not believe he could make a miraculous return to the pitch after being sidelined with a career-threatening injury for an astonishing 30-month period.

The 27-year-old endured a frustrating long spell on the sideline with a horrible knee injury which nearly robbed his rather fine career at Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg

The Ghana international has not played for both and country for more than two years amid a comeback trail punctuated by minor injuries and infections.

Vorsah has been farmed out to Salzburg feeder club Liefering to continue with the battle for full fitness and has so far not experienced any discomfort.

It does appear the nightmare is over for the former TSG Hoffenheim has revealed for the first time that he never thought he could return to the pitch.

"At the beginning I was very optimistic that the healing process would proceed quickly. The operation in Augsburg has been good, the doctors and physiotherapists were very satisfied, he told the Austrian media.

The first three months of rehab was good" as the Ghanaian talks about the worst time of his career.

I did not believe I could play again because I endured so many setbacks in my recovery process.

For me it was important I felt no fear and Im grateful to all persons who helped me to get to where I am now.

The terrible injury robbed Vorsah of his international career after being absent from the Black Stars since 2013.

The Ghanaian could now heave a sigh of relief after returning to the pitch for the first time in 30-months.

Vorsah joined Red Bull in the summer of 2012 and went on to have a fine debut season.

A horrific knee injury sustained at the start of the season a year later robbed the Ghana international of any chance of playing football.
