Hundreds Displaced By Violence

Over 300 people have been displaced as a result of the communal violence that erupted, last week, between some Kokombas and Nawuris at Kitare, Volta Region. The fighting claimed five lives.

Some of the people who have been rendered homeless are staying with relatives, individuals and philanthropists The National Disaster Management Organisation has also mobilized resources to support them.

The District Co-ordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Bernard Mensah told newsmen that there was looting and destruction of property including food items worth millions of cedis at Kitare, which is now a deserted town.
