Ike Quartey Denies Domestic Abuse Claims

Ike "Bazooka" Quartey has denied domestic abuse allegations being made against him.

The Daily Guide Newspaper reported on Tuesday that Ike assaulted his wife of seventeen years at their New Gbawe residence in Accra. She reportedly suffered a broken toe and bruises to her face.

The paper also claims to have received calls from his neighbors, who said that Quartey beating his wife is a regular occurence in the village and she is often seen running through the streets and yelling for help.

The author of the initial article alleges that Quartey begged him not to go public with the story.

Quartey and his wife, Barbara, appeared earlier today on the Joy FM Super Morning Show and said the story was completely false. They did admit to an arguement, but it came nowhere near the point of being physical. Quartey's wife said that her husband did step on her toe, but it was purely accidental.

The former welterweight champion said that he never told the author of the Daily Guide article to hold back the story, he simply denied the allegations.
