How Bawumia started his 55th birthday

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia celebrates his 55th birthday today, October 7 2018.

Depending on the individual, there is no specific way one commemorates his or her birthday but the Vice President was ushered from his home into his usual busy schedule with a birthday chorus from support staff.

A video posted by the Member of Parliament(MP) for Lawra constituency and Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways, Anthony Abayifaa Karbo revealed the country’s Head of Economic Management Team beaming with smiles after what came to him as a surprise birthday wish, from his core domestic staff.

Born in Tamale in the Northern region, he was a Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana until his nomination as Vice Presidential candidate for the NPP in 2008, 2012 and 2016 respectively.

He was the lead witness for the petitioners in the 2012/2013 Presidential Election Petition which challenged the declaration of John Mahama as the winner of the election. He is married to Samira Bawumia and they have four children.
