Hire Amidu And Otoo To Prosecute Woyome - Nyaunu

An anti- corruption crusader and National Democratic Congress former member of Parliament for Lower Manya Krobo Constituency in the Eastern Region has charged the Mahama led administration to show commitment in retrieving the GH51.2 Million Ghana Cedis the state paid illegally to businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome. Hon. Michael Teye Nyaunu further advised that former two Attorneys General and Minister of Justice, Hon. Martin Amidu and Hon. Ayikoi Otoo be hired as legal counsels to deal with all matters relating to the Woyome scandal. He spoke with Kwame Tutu, host of the breakfast show Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5 fm.

The former member of Ghana’s legislative Assembly bemoaned the growing levels of corruption under an NDC government stating that the current situation has breached the ideals in which the PNDC/NDC was formed. Hon. Nyaunu said the real characters many members the National Democratic Congress have now shown after the exit of former President Rawlings as Head of State. He expressed disappointment at President Dramani Mahama’s ways of handling issues of corruption.
The former lawmaker wondered why government functionaries like Elvis Afriyie Ankrah and Mahama Ayariga have not been dismissed by the appointing authorities. He disclosed that he sometimes shed tears for Ghana due to the manner in which resource for development are been siphoned by people in top positions.
Hon. Michael Teye Nyaunu poured venom on senior public and civil servants saying they are causing the downfall of Ghana by looting the resources of the country.
