Help Andrea Giovannetti held in Accra, "immigration prision"

Please help Andrea Giovannetti held in Accra, immigration prison he is dying for the love of god please help him get released.

10 th, 2002, I entered Accra, Ghana. Going through immigration, I paid $100.00 fee legally to immigration for a visa. I have the official stamp entered into my passport, and the official receipt from immigration. This was my 2nd trip there, the first was on October the 2002. Prior to this first trip I was in contact with a Kantas Adoms & Joseph Donkor. They where suppose to arrange a temporal visa in which I western union them $250.00, and they fax me the suppose original temporary visa. I entered on the 28th of October, 2002 they met me in immigration took my temporary visa& passport 1 minute my passport was stamp legal, entry, stay until the 5th of november, 2002, left legally, passport stamp embarked nov, 05,2002. Those people I was suppose to do some business with were mad at me, because I would not give them money before I left, I kept on receiving emails from them requesting money for the business, we were suppose to do, but I said no, did not trust them, and will not give any upfront money, so I broke off contact with them, so I decided return on the 10th of December, 2002, meet some knew business people.

So like I said before I arrive no problems entered legally etc, but KLM lost my luggage, & they called me to pick it up the next night on the 11th December, 2002, so I went to the airport to retrieve my luggage, there I ran into this Joseph Donkor, he said I got him in trouble because of the fist temporary visa he fax me that was use on oct, 28th, 2002, I told him to keep away from me, and I had no idea what he was talking about, while waiting for my luggage I saw him talking to the head of immigration at the airport, my luggage never did arrive, so I was leaving again for the hotel, when this head of immigration approach me, took me into his office privately, and said that my first visa fax to me on oct, 25th, 2002, was a fake, well I said your friend Joseph Donkor, fax it to me, and I have the western union receipt to him and the wordind through western union for temporary visa, then I said I entered your country legally, here is my passport. He looked at it, saw the official stamp, and said there is a big problem, and to fix this problem it will cost me $25,000.00, I said what, what are you suggesting he said just a friendly bribe to let me go on my way, to fix the problem.

I said there is know problem, and said I wanted to go, he refuse, I said I want to call the U.S.A Embassy he, refuse, he say pay up, said no way, this is extortion, by you as a official government migration in charge of the airport, & collaboration with this joseph donkor, well he said i have to make a statement in which i was concourse into sighing, threating my life, from there it was around 12:00 am already, and they said we are going to take you down to immigration headquarters where you will be release. We arrive, and I was put in immigration detain jail, the conditions were horrible, no running water, no sanitation, other detainees with malaria & other illness, no medical help, refused. Other dittanies being held, for MONTHS, AND FORCING BRIBES TO (George Brains Annan, (assistant supertentdant of immigration).

This man is in charge of this section, I was ask for bribes from him in which I refused. I asked every 5 minutes to be allow to call the U.S embassy, they said they called it was a lie after, the 2nd day in there I slip out my drivers license & note for some one to go to the embassy, they got the note & a consular person third secretary ms Kerry Schnier from U.S embassy arrive I was call into this George Annan office where the ms Kerry Schnier was there I explained my situation to her, she wanted to know why the us embassy was not notify ASAP, he said he was not aware I was there, and then one of the other immigration people said the telephone was constantly busy, she said you are suppose to have a special tele#, they said well,???

She ask for the charges, and this George Brains Annan could not answer, it very complicated etc, she & me never got a straight answer, no paper work on, me no charges etc, then I said I need my medication in which I have to take daily for a couple of on going illnesses, & I wanted to go to the hospital, she ask for this, they agree to take me to the military 37 hospital in which all u.s embassy personal go, & is the best hospital, in Accra, Ghana, then she told me she will be back & find out what is going on & try to get a straight answer, off to the side I told her I am being held for money by immigration officers & the government of Ghana, I was denied medical treatment & my medicines, my main concern is for the other detainees from other countries, there human rights, are being violated, held for months with no hope of getting out, can not pay small fines & sent to there regular prisons for more than 1 year.

I am deeply concern about a detainee my friend (Andrea Giovannetti), still held at immigration headquarters detain. If a country represented can go & find out what’s going on with his case, I cannot get a straight answer I will pay for his airline ticket back home if

That what it takes, if someone can email me back on this matter much appreciated.

Well I was finally release & deported back safe in the USA, there was never any charges ,paperwork on me, please look into there human right violations, all my human rights & international laws were broken, please help the other people there
