Hearts of Oak fans against Hayford's dismissal

Agitated Hearts of Oak supporters are set to take to the streets in protest against the club’s dismissal of influential midfielder Emmanuel Hayford insisting the board and management must rescind their decision.

Hayford, 22, was transfer-listed by the Phobians on the basis of lack of commitment and indiscipline, but the fans insist the management is only saying that to convince them.

The fans will be petitioning the majority shareholder and Board Chairman of the club Togbe Afede latest by Friday.

According to the fans, they will call on the Board Chairman to call the management to order and apologise to the boy even if they will not take him back into the team.

Spokesperson of the group and staunch supporter of Accra Hearts of Oak Alhassan Bosingwa said the management must clear the charges of commitment leveled against the youngster and apologise to him.

“We shall be petitioning Togbe. We want him to call the management to order and let them apologise to the young man. We have not problem in the management choosing not to work with the boy again, but to say he is not committed is very mischievous,” Bosingwa told GHANAsoccernet.com

“This is a player who even after a severe injury to the neck took a commercial vehicle from Accra to Kumasi to watch our game with King Faisal two seasons ago. So what do they mean by commitment? If they don’t want the player anymore, they shouldn’t destroy him,” he added.
