Gyimah rubbishes claims of indiscipline in South Africa

Orlando Pirates versatile defensive-minded Ghanaian player, Edwin Gyimah, has brushed off any claims of ill-discipline.

Gyimah joined Eric Tinkler’s charges on a three-year deal during the July/August transfer window period.

The defender-cum-midfielder started his career in the Absa Premiership in 2011, joining SuperSport United and making 73 starts in his two-and-a-half seasons with the Pretoria-based outfit.

Ahead of the 2014/15 season, the Ghanaian international was touted with a move overseas but ended up being loaned out to Mpumalanga Black Aces by SuperSport for the season.

Gyimah’s departure from Matsatsantsa caught many in the football fraternity by surprise as he appeared to have established himself as a regular in the side.

Around the time of his departure, allegations of ill-discipline surfaced as the reason behind SuperSport’s decision to send him out on loan.

Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Gyimah dismissed these allegations stating, “Nothing happened. I am a professional and if these were the reasons why I left and went to Aces, I would not have been signed by Pirates as they wouldn’t want to be associated with such a player,” he added.
