Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan voted for Lionel Messi for the 2015 FIFA Ballon d'Or award.

Gyan was one of the three reps from Ghana who were given the mandate to cast their votes for their favorite player.

The Shanghai SIPG attacker on his ratings ranked the Barcelona and Argentine star on top, followed by Brazilian Neymar with Ronaldo being ranked last on the Black Stars captain’s list.

Black Stars coach Avram Grant and ace Ghanaian Sports journalist Michael Oti-Adjei who is a correspondent for the BBC were the other two who were eligible to vote.

Messi won his fifth FIFA Ballon’dor award after securing 41.3% of the votes while Ronaldo came second with 27.76% with Neymar securing just 7.86&.

Gyan is currently on a preseason tour with his team in Spain preparing ahead of the 2016 Chinese Super League.

The former Al Ain striker was recently in his native country where he was involved in several philanthropic activities.
