Black Stars coach, Avram Grant has praised every member of his team saying “they all deserved to be called up into the squad.”

The Israeli trainer faced a backlash from the media after inviting goalkeeper, Fatau Dauda into the Stars squad to face Mauritius on Sunday but has defended his decision to include the 31-year-old.

Dauda hasn’t been active recently after losing out on his goalkeeping place in the Ashantigold team and failed to make the local Black Stars squad that travelled to play Japan in a friendly match.

In an interview with the footballghana.com Grant said: “I don’t want to be talking about this because every player in the team deserved a call-up.”

“Adam Kwarasey got injured with his team and I decided to call up Fatau Dauda, so I think he is fine to play,” Grant added.

Talking about his team’s preparation for Sunday’s game against Mauritius, the former Chelsea manager said his team will be focused to win the match to be able to qualify for next year’s AFCON.
