Government will not entertain sabotage from civil servants

Bolgatanga, Nov 2, GNA - Mr John Tia Akologu, the Minister of Information, has said the government would not tolerate any civil or public servant who would sabotage the implementation of government programmes and policies.

He said this when he interacted with heads of departments, assembly members, chiefs, opinion leaders and civil society organizations at separate functions in Bolgatanga, Bongo and Talensi-Nabdam districts. Mr Akologu said as civil servants they were to remain impartial in executing government policies and programmes.

He said those who wanted to dabble in politics whilst dispensing their duties as Civil servants to resign and go into politics instead of violating the code of ethics of the profession. Mr Akologu said that as civil servants, it was incumbent upon them to adhere strictly to the principle of impartiality when it came to implementation of government programmes and policies. He called on the heads of departments not to be armchair officers but to move to the grounds to do animation when it comes to implementation of government programmes and policies.
