Government to ensure development of communities

Ekrakese (E/R), Oct. 3, GNA - The New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, Nana Adjei Boateng, has said the government would ensure that every community benefit from a development project before the end of its first term. He was speaking at Ekrakese, near Oyoko, as part of his tour of the Municipality to find out the needs of communities and to explore how the Assembly could support their development.

Nana Adjei Boateng assured the people that the Assembly would provide them with a hand-dug well, but said that would depend on the willingness of the community to support the project with communal labour. He urged the people not to wait for any public figure to visit them before they state their grievances, but should pass them through their Unit Committees and Assemblymen to the Assembly. Nana Adjei Boateng called on them to support the National Health Insurance Scheme, saying, it would enable them to have access to good health care.

The Chairman of the 'Fernando Po' Unit Committee, Mr Kweku Sasu, said the priority of the area is the provision of water to avert shortage during the dry season. He also appealed for the construction of footbridges over some of the streams, which overflow their banks during the raining season.
