Gov’t won't charge utility fees at tertiary level - Edu minister

The Minister for Education, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyeman has stated emphatically that government has no intention of charging utility fees to students at the tertiary level.

She said this when the Ministry took its turn at the 'Meet the Press' series in Accra.

She gave the assurance that government was doing everything possible to ensure uninterrupted power supply to facilitate effective teaching and learning at all level of education.

Prof. Opoku-Agyeman said government has put measures in place to check weaknesses in arithmetic and science education.

She said government is strengthening I.C.T training for students and teachers and the retooling of laboratories in the various teacher training colleges across the country.
