Girl predicted uncle's death in Holland

A prediction by a nine-year old girl that her uncle living in Holland was going to die in four days time sent shivers down the spine of people in Yonso, a village near Asante Jamase.

Nine year-old Akosua Badu was said to have told one of her uncles that her other uncle, Mr Manu Adu Gyamfi who lives in Holland was going to die because his mother had gone there to kill him. True to her prediction, Adu Gyamfi's death was reported on the day and at the time predicted by Akosua.

According to Mrs Adu Gyamfi, wife of the deceased, Akosua Badu confessed to her uncle with him she lives in Kumasi that she was a witch and demanded c5,000 to be used to compensate the other witches in the family failing which Adu Gyamfi was going to be slaughtered for a feast during the Easter festivities.

Adu Gyamfi' smother however denied the allegation, saying that indeed he had been known to be ill for a while in Holland. Asked how Akosua could predict the exact date and time of his death, she directed the Spectator's reporter to ask Akosua herself, while at the same time refusing to confirm where Akosua lives.

A family member however confided that the story was true.
