Ghana's laws clearly forbids homosexuality - Amekudzi

A Private legal practitioner, Tony Amekudzi says Ghana’s laws on marriage clearly proscribe gay unions.

His clarification follows concerns expressed by international relations expert Dr Vladimir Antwi Danso that Ghana’s laws must clearly forbid gay marriage.

He expressed the concerns in connection with a campaign by the UN to foster tolerance in member states for gays.

Speaking on XYZ Breakfast Show Monday morning, Mr. Amekudzi, who prides himself as an international lawyer, told host Moro Awudu that the clarity of Ghana’s laws against gay marriage is inherent in the legal provisions of consummation of marriage in the country.

Mr Amekudzi has written to past leaders of the US and Britain as well as retired pope Benedict XIV to express reservations about sexual abuse in the Catholic Church.

He has suggested that Catholic Priests be allowed to marry as a way of forestalling sexual abuse in the church.
