Ghana bids for Secretary General of the Pan African Youth Union

The Republic of Ghana through the National Youth Authority will be contesting for the position of Secretary General of the Pan African Youth Union at the 5th Triennial Ordinary Congress in Khartoum, Sudan.

The congress is expected to elect a new set of executives to run the affairs of the continental body for the next three years.

Ghana’s candidate Ahmed Bening, a youth activist of global repute will lead the bid.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo endorsed the candidature of Mr Bening wished him the best of luck in a meeting earlier today.

The meeting was for Mr Bening to brief the president on the status of Ghana’s bid.

It is the first time Ghana will be putting up the bid for Secretary General of the PYU.

Ghana’s candidate has been involved in Youth and student politics over the past 7years and has built extensive experience and network within the Youth front in Africa.

He is the immediate past Secretary General of the West Africa Youth Organization.

He has in the past served as Education and democratization Secretary of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) and program director of the All Africa Students Union (AASU).
