Ghana Post urged to give Hohoe office a face-lift

Hohoe, Aug 23, GNA - Togbega Gabusu, Paramount Chief of Gbi Traditional Area has appealed to the management of the Ghana Post (GP) Company to consider reconstructing or renovating its offices in Hohoe to the level of business and aesthetical acceptance. He said the GP offices located at a strategic business centre of the municipality could only be described as "lizard back" due to its neglect and shabbiness.

Togbega Gabusu also the President of Volta Regional House of Chiefs, who spoke to the Ghana News Agency, asked management of GP whether it had rescinded its earlier decision to rehabilitate the Hohoe Post office after that of Kpando.

He said a document he cited on the building indicated a redesign of the old structure into a one-stop business centre with operational Internet caf=E9 and other shops, estimated to cost 80,000 Ghana Cedis in 2006, but did not materialize.

Togbega Gabusu said a demand for rehabilitation work was not too far-fetched in view of the changing status of Hohoe. He said Ghana Post must reposition itself to meet the challenges brought in the trail of globalization and technological advancement. 23 Aug. 08
