GSE In Improved Activity on Friday

ACCRA The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) recorded slightly improved activity Friday as share prices of five equities appreciated without a loser.

The GSE All-Share Index was 0.96 points better at 385.42, up from 384.46 points. Market capitalisation improved at 2,833.65 billion cedis, up from, Wednesday's 2,832.10 billion cedis. (about 1,800 cedis = 1 U.S. dollars).

Total shares demanded, as has been the trend in recent times, were far ahead of offers. Demand was 3,700,650 while offers were 288,620 with a moderate 40,820 shares changing hands compared to 20,050 traded Wednesday.

On the floor, Paterson Zochnis (PZ) led the field with 20 cedis gain to 240 cedis, followed by Accra Brewery Limited (ABL), Mechanical Lloyd Company (MLC), Pioneer Tobacco Company (PTC) and Unilever (UNIL) each five cedis better at 620 cedis, 85 cedis, 255 cedis and 875 cedis respectively.
