GFA takes care of stadium pitch

The Ghana FA has arranged for the pitch of the Accra Sports Stadium to be put in good stead ahead of the Black Stars training session on Tuesday.

The Black Stars players almost boycotted the opening training session in their preparations towards their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Comoros over the deplorable state of the pitch.

The technical team and players had arrived at the Accra Sports Stadium for training only to be greeted by a shambolic playing surface almost wrecked the session.

The shocking state of the pitch is as a result of a strike action embarked upon by workers of Green Grass Technology – who were contracted to take care of the pitch – for unpaid services running into years.
