Four priests ordained as Anglican Priests

Koforidua, Aug. 28, GNA - The Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Anglican Church, Rt. Rev. Benjamin Francis Quashie on Sunday ordained four priests into the Anglican Church at the St. Peter's Cathedral in Koforidua.

Those ordained included Rev. Fr. Joseph Otoo Ayeh of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Juapong, Rev. Fr. Christian Tetteh Akumiah of Church World Service, Accra, Rev. Fr. Philip Aduama, formerly of Jesus Cares Centre, Accra and Rev. Fr. Edward Ohene Gyan, retired Eastern Regional Manager of Anglican Schools.

Preaching the sermon, Rev. Canon Robert Warren Offerle of Christ the King Anglican Church, Hollywood, Florida in the United States observed that since the beginning of Christianity, the leadership of the Church had always faced persecution.

He said despite such difficult situations, with perseverance, the church had thrived all over the world.

Rev. Canon Offerle called on the congregation to continuously pray for the newly ordained priests to be able to fulfil the huge tasks they would be shouldering as mediators between God and the congregation.
