Former West Ham United winger Trevor Sinclair has applauded the capture of Ghana international Andre Ayew insisting it is good business.

The Hammers signed the former Swansea star for a club record of £20.7m and the former England international thinks it’s worth it.

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ, Sinclair, who played at West Ham for five years, had this to say about the signing of the Ghanaian international:

“… for me he’s done really well last season, he’s a player that can score goals.”

Sinclair however admitted that the fans may not be utterly happy since they were not expecting the Ghanaian with reports were that Mario Mandzukic, Carlos Baca and Alexandre Laczetti were all set for the Hammers.

“The fans were hoping for someone a little bit bigger than that. A bigger name, maybe a more glamourous name. But he is a great addition and a good signing,” he added.

Ayew netted 12 goals in 35 appearances for Swansea last season and West Ham will be hoping he can score a considerable amount more during his time at the London Stadium.
