Forensic audit cites First Atlantic Bank for GHC2m excess fee charges

A forensic report commissioned by President Akufo-Addo’s Cabinet and presented to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), has cited First Atlantic Bank for alleged infractions relating to excess fee transfers and cash management to the tune of GHS2,539,624.55.

Meanwhile, EOCO is also on the heels of some former CEOs of some state-owned institutions for alleged misappropriation of funds.

Among those being sought after are the ex-CEOs of Ghana Free Zones Board (GFZB), and the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC); Kojo Twum Boafo and Sedinam Tamakloe, respectively.

According to the report, Mr Twum Boafo is expected to account for an amount of GHS3,919,622.00, equivalent to $1,622,821; while Ms Tamakloe is expected to account for GHS3,193,592.00.

Similarly, Mr Kwame Kingsley Awuah-Darko, a former Managing Director of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST) is expected to account for GHS109, 498, 565.00 equivalent to $33, 305, 527.00
