Fisherman Dies At Sea

Report received by this press said the body of Ghanaian fisherman, John Kwesi Arthur, was brought on the shores of Freetown earlier this week after he was found dead on board a fishing boat along the Shebro Island area.

Police sources say they first got news of the death of 29 year old John Kwesi Author following a report from Mr Amara Bangura of Bangso Fishing Company, Falcon Bridge in Freetown in which he reported that one of his crew had fallen ill and died as a result of the illness.

CID headquarters wasted no time in sending a wireless message demanding the ship to berth on shores.

However, before the message could reach the boat captain, they had already docked at the naval base in Freetown from where the body of the Ghanaian was conveyed to the Connaught Hospital for post-mortem examination to ascertain cause of death.

Connaught Hospital authorities are yet to make public the cause of death of the fisherman but the Ghanaian High Commission here is helping the CID with their primary investigation.

Meanwhile, family sources in Ghana the decease is survived by a wife and two kids.
