Female Circumcision - 3 held

Three persons who circumcised an eight day old baby GIRL have been arrested by the Wa Police. They are Alhaji Abu the one who carried out the circumcision and Yakubu Mumuni and Khadiya Yakubu the parents of the baby.

According to the Graphic, the arrest of the three persons is in line with the Criminal cod Amendment Act of 1994 which makes female circumcision an offence punishable by law.

The three will be arraigned before court shortly.
