FA's ex-gratia is dubious - Yeboah

President of the Sport Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), Kwabena Yeboah has kicked against the decision of the Ghana Football Association to pay each member of the outgoing Executive Committee $15,000 as ex-gratia.

The amount, which has already been paid to the 22-members of the committee contravenes the figure approved by congress four years ago, which stands at $2,604 each.

This means a total of $330,000 has been pocketed by the 22-members but the renowned football commentator thinks the amount is outrageous.

“I feel a bit uncomfortable with the fact that ex-gratia will have to be paid to Executive Committee members. If we are very wealthy to dole out $15,000 to each member of the Executive Committee then I believe that there is a lot more we can do with that money,” Yeboah told reporters in Accra on Thursday.

The 15,000 ex-gratia was agreed following consistent deliberations between the Fred Crentsil led Remuneration Committee and the FA Executive Committee.
