Electoral Commission mounts witness box today

The Electoral Commission (EC) will take its turn to testify in the witness box today.

The baton has shifted to the commission following the closure of the case for both President Mahama and the NDC.

Even though it is expected that the chairman of the EC, Dr Kwadwo Afari-Gyan, will mount the witness box, our sources indicate that Mr Amadu Sulley, the Deputy Chairman of the EC in charge of Administration and Finance, will testify in evidence-in-chief. He has sworn all the affidavits of the EC as the second respondent in the ongoing election petition case.

It is expected that the evidence given by the witness will give account of the 2012 presidential election as well as give the Judges the chance to assess the substance of the petitioners claims that the 2012 election was rigged in favour of President John Dramani Mahama.
