Eastern Regional NAGRAT declares industrial strike action

Koforidua, March 09, GNA - The Eastern Regional Executive of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) has declared an industrial strike action with effect from Tuesday March 08. A statement issued in Koforidua and signed by Mr Kwaku Djan Asante, Regional Chairman of NAGRAT, assured members in the area that the association was fully aware of their cries as a result of their migration onto the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS). "We wish to inform members that we are not satisfied with the removal of professional allowances as well as problems associated with the SSSS after we have been migrated onto it," it said. The statement said reports from the National Secretariat indicate that the discussion with the Government had not yielded any positive dividends.
