Easter - Accra

Reverend Felix Mensah Agbo, Head of the Tesano branch of the Global Evangelical Church, has called on the Ghana National Road Safety Commission (GNRSC), to intensify its education on road safety to prevent lorry accidents in the country.

He expressed worry that the recent spate of motor accidents was claiming too many lives and if the situation was not checked, the country would lose its future leaders.

Rev. Agbo, who made the call at an Easter Sunday Church Service at Tesano in Accra, advised drivers to desist from driving under the influence of alcohol, disrespect for traffic regulations, speeding, wrongful overtaking and overloading their vehicles, which he said contributed mostly to the accidents. Concerning politics, he reiterated the call on political parties to bury their differences and rally behind the government for national development.

Rev. Agbo called on religious leaders to use the pulpit to educate their members on government policies and programmes. He cautioned the youth against "get-rich-quick" attitude and other acts that could hinder national progress. 12 April 09 .
