EC will provide clean results that can't be overturned – Charlotte Osei

Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson, Charlotte Osei, has given the assurance that the Commission will do its work so well that official election results cannot be overturned .

According to her, the commission will do it best to ensure that Election results are not overturned and that results will be accepted as a true reflection of the electoral process.

Even though she acknowledged that there are legal processes that aggrieved parties can use to overturn results, she was confident that the Commission will deliver to prevent any controversy in the first place


Speaking at the launch of the 5- year Strategic Plan for the Commission in Accra Tuesday, Madam Osei also assured Ghanaians that the Commission will deliver the most independent and well trusted electioneering system ahead of the November polls.

She assured that the commission will work to ensure that the Elections are safe.
Touching on the new logo, she explained that the new logo is to better position the Electoral Commission as a brand that depicts inclusiveness.

Madam Charlotte Osei explained the various symbols and colours in the logo adding that the change in the Logo was the right thing to do, considering the EC ‘s guiding principle.

She hinted that the change in the logo is important as the former logo, which has the Coat of Arms and ballot box as the major symbol, did not reflect all the activities of the Commission, adding that it (Commission) play more roles than just representing the symbols in the old logo.
