Driver Fined 400,000 Cedis For Causing Harm

The Techiman Circuit Tribunal has fined a 24 year old driver 400,000 cedis for causing harm. In default he will go in for six months. The driver, Kwame Kyeremeh, pleaded not guilty. Presenting the facts of the case, Chief Inspector Asafo Adjei told the court presided over by Mr.. Nicholas Abodakpi that in April this year, the complainant, Mr.. Agyeman Gyau was negotiating a bend at a slow pace along the Ahmadiyya street in Techiman, when the accused (Kyeremeh) appeared from nowhere and slashed his left hand with a sharp instrument, suspected to be a cutlass. Chief Inspector Adjei said Kyeremeh bolted but was later traced and arrested. According to Mr.. Gyau, the accused, who is a relative, last year stole his 1.4 million cedis. He said he was arrested but later the case was settled out of court. Mr. Gyau said based on this, He decided to eject the accused from his house.
