Don Simon to sponsor Ashgold

Reigning FCPPL champions, Ashgold has landed a lucrative sponsorship deal with Don Simon ahead of the commencement of their title defense and continental campaign. The Obuasi-based Premier league side agreed to the sponsorship package proposed by the beverage manufacturing company set to be unveiled on December 9, 2015. The proposed one-year deal will include both a financial component and power products from the beverage manufacturing company.

The miners ended a two-decade wait for domestic glory at the end of the 2014/15 FCPPL season to reinstate themselves in the Ghana football’s league of ‘big boys’. Management of the premier league champions will be unveiling their association with the beverage manufacturing company in a short ceremony in Obuasi.

Communications Director of the Miners, Kofi Yawson, revealed the news to sports crusader ahead of the unveiling ceremony in Obuasi.

“We have agreed on a sponsorship deal with Don Simon and will be unveiling the package on Wednesday. It includes company products and some financial commitment as well”, Yawson told sports crusader exclusively.

Ashgold won the double last season after having played second fiddle to their feared nemesis Kumasi Asante Kotoko for the past two decades. A late Eric Donkor free-kick won Kumasi Asante Kotoko the SWAG cup at the expense of the reigning league champions last Sunday.
