Christians celebrate the birth of Christ with church services

Accra, Dec. 25, GNA - The service at the Christian Action Faith Ministries in Accra was filled with worshippers who sang and gave praise to God for gracefully bringing them to the end of another year, although the event fell on a weekday.

Delivering the Christmas sermon, Rev. Johnson Tsakpornu, Resident Pastor said Adam, the first man created by God, fell short of the glory of God through disobedience and ushered in a reign of sin, thus passing on the virus of sin to humankind.

He said, God however, at an appointed time, sent his son, Jesus Christ, to bring forgiveness of sin and abundant life to all humanity. He encouraged the congregation to look into the new year with hope since the birth of Christ held lots of promises for the future.

At the Joy Temple of the International Central Gospel Church at Ashalley Botwe New Town, Reverend Nii Okang-Daniels, Resident Minister, preaching under the theme: "The seven lessons of Christmas said though Bethlehem was a small town, it was chosen as the place of birth for our Lord Jesus Christ.

"So shall our nation Ghana would also be chosen by the Lord for unimaginable events to occur in 2008. God will pick you from anywhere, no matter how small you are to do great things", he said.

He said the coming year will be a year of restoration and elevation and no matter the confusion and hardship and disturbances God will speak and elect his child to lead the nation in peace and harmony. Rev. Okang-Daniels noted that there were three things that God would lead the nation to discover in the coming year, which were good leadership, human resources and natural resources.

" The year 2008 is significant because all dreams that have delayed, lost opportunities and privileges would be realized," he said and urged Ghanaians to discover their identity, potential and every opportunity to fashion out their lifestyles.

He reminded them that, the Ghanaian culture was rich and should not allow western lifestyles to influence that rich culture of the nation.
