CPP Executives Meet

The Convention Peoples' Party (CPP) did not pay its polling agents for the 2000 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections in the Upper East Region, the Interim Regional Executives of the party said in Bolgatanga on Tuesday.

Apart from making it difficult to find agents for future elections, the non-payment was affecting the credibility of the party, the Executives said at meeting in Bolgatanga attended by constituency Chairmen and Secretaries of the party.

The meeting was organised to take stock of the party's performance during the last elections and reorganise for Election 2004.

The Interim Regional Chairman, Alhaji Atipa Ibrahim congratulated members for their commitment that made it possible for the party to perform creditably in spite of financial constraints and lack of logistics.

Mr John Yaro, Regional Vice-Chairman of the party, described the CPP as the mother of all parties in the country and charged the members to refrain from selfishness and peddling of lies to facilitate its reorganisation to enable it recapture power.
