The Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana, CIMG, is calling for sanity among coordinators and individuals involved in organizing awards in Ghana.

The institute says there is the need for circumspection in the management and operationalization of awards schemes.

CIMG Vice President, Daniel Kaiser Tee, says such a move will put to rest the myriad of controversies that surround many award schemes in the country.

He was speaking at the launch of the 29th CIMG marketing performance awards in Accra.

The proliferation of awards schemes in Ghana, he observed, calls for great concern, especially the conduct of some of the organizers.

Many have called into question the competency of the criteria used. Some have also accused award scheme organizers of demanding certain sums of money or favours in order to win the awards.

Mr Kaiser Tee maintains award organizers need to exhibit some level of professionalism, independence, credibility and judgment to gain the trust of potential winners and the general public.

He said the CIMG, being an institute that has one of the most credible and longstanding award schemes in the country, is ready to assist organizers to do a better job to make award in Ghana, quality dependent and credible.
