'Bugers Send Down Drugs

Anfoega (Volta Region), 30 Oct., Ghanaian Catholics in Hamburg, Germany, have sent assorted drugs worth 18 million cedis to six Catholic hospitals in the country for free treatment of the poor. The Ghana Catholic Mission (GCM), Hamburg, the donors, want the drugs to be distributed to catholic hospitals at Fosu, Breman-Asikuma (Central Region), Apowa (Western), Sefwi-Asafo (Brong Ahafo), Kpando and Anfoega (Volta). Mr. John Okyere, secretary of GCM, Hamburg who together with GCM president, Mr. Peter Donkor-Fofie, has been distributing the drugs, said this when he presented six million cedis worth of drugs to Kpando and Anfoega Catholic hospitals at a ceremony at Anfoega yesterday. He said the donation is meant to support government's efforts in the health delivery system. The drugs were received by Dr.. Atsu Seake-Kwawu, medical officer in charge of Anfoega Catholic Hospital.. Dr. Seake-Kwawu said the hospital treats patients who are unable to pay their medical bills under the cash and carry system.
