Blind man sets up orphanage

A 32 year old visually impaired man who says he was moved by the plight of persons like him and others who struggle to acquire education, is calling on Ghanaians both home and abroad to help him meet the needs of such persons.

S.K Darko says he felt this need the most, while he was a student at the Akropong School for the blind where he had some challenges with payment of his registration fees for his final examination.

He said after going through such a tough time, he saw the need to help children with financially challenged but brilliant students, acquire education.

Mr. Darko, who currently has 98 children under his care in his Eye of the Lord Day Care Centre at Otuase near Nsawam Adoagyiri in the Eastern Region, is therefore appealing to philanthropists and other kind hearted persons to come to his aid.
