Prominent media personality, Bridget Otoo, has called on Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, not to sway from his religion in his bid to win the hearts of Ghanaians.

According to her, the vice president should focus on policies that will enable individuals to gain employment to better their lives instead of concentrating on the church and making promises to convince them.

She also noted that Dr. Bawumia should present himself as a true Muslim when he goes on campaign tours and desist from pretending to be a Christian to win their support.

Bridget said that most of the promises being made by Dr. Bawumia are not genuine and cannot be trusted based on what he did in the past during campaign periods.

"Dear churches, you have members who don't have jobs, members whose businesses have been destroyed because of @MBawumia and @NanaAkufoAddo. Members whose pension funds have been depleted by this government. The best you can do for your church members is to let Alhaji Bawumia speak to the issues affecting members. Don't give him the pulpit to promote any agenda that hurts your members.

"We don't care about his religion, and so he should present himself as a proud Muslim and not pretend to be a Christian. The fact that he thinks Christians are gullible enough to believe his lies is why we must teach him a lesson he will never forget!!" she wrote on X.

Bridget remarked after Dr. Bawumia said that his administration would look forward to incentivizing churches to promote their work instead of taxing them.

The comment has sparked wild reactions from the public, with some people questioning his obsession with the church.

Ghana goes to the polls on December 7, 2024, to elect a president and Members of Parliament.

As Dr. Bawumia takes the helm of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the task ahead, John Mahama leads the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in their quest to wrestle power from the NPP.
