Back From Europe: Kweku Baako Dares Rawlingses Again

The Editor-in-Chief of The Crusading Guide, Kweku Baako, returned to Accra on Wednesday night after a week’s investigative trip to Europe in search of stolen funds.

In an interview on arrival t the Kotoka International Airport, Baako said, “the trip was very useful and I renew my challenge to the former First Family, the Rawlingses to take me to court.” Baako said he has read on the internet a media report that President Jerry Rawlings has hinted that his wife, Nana Konadu has written to the Swiss Bank to comment on allegations by The Crusading Guide that she has a foreign account there. Baako laughed and said, “does the ex-President expect Ghanaians to believe that the Bank will write and say that it is true there is such an account there? The bank will collapse immediately for lack of confidentiality.”

He continued: “Is there a better way for the Rawlingses to find out the truth than the law courts where all of us would be under oath to speak the truth or risk perjury?” Baako explained that he completed investigations into a couple of foreign accounts in Switzerland and France. He also assessed information on the ownership of some luxury houses and apartments in the United States and Britain. The The Most Productive Part

Beaming with smiles, Baako went on “the very productive part of the trip was the way and manner we were able to initiate investigations into plenty of foreign accounts and properties.”

Baako, to prove a point, showed those present some documentation on concluded investigations into some foreign accounts and properties. There was documentation to show that investigations have begun on other foreign accounts and properties.

From the sneak preview that the media personnel had, Ghanaians are going to have a lot to read, decipher and draw their own conclusions. Should any of the allegations already made or yet to be made land in the law courts, there are likely to be so many people that there might be live broadcasts by some of the FM stations.

The mounting tension between Baako and the Rawlings peaked last month when Professional link Limited, publishers of The Crusading Guide and Baako expressed their unwillingness to appear before the Complaints and Settlement Committee of the National Media Commission (NMC). Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, the former First Lady sent the paper and the Editor to the NMC over allegations by the paper that Nana Konadu has been operating a foreign account in Switzerland.
