A year today, the Parliament of Ghana was clad in red and black following the untimely demise of a Legislator, Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko, the then sitting Member of Parliament (MP) of the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency.

Hon Agyarko had gone to the United States of America (USA) to seek medical care after he was diagnosed with an undisclosed medical condition at the Greater Accra regional hospital.

The Legislator who was married with seven children had been the MP for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency since 2012. He replaced Mrs Frema Opare, the current Chief of staff as an MP for the area.

Hon Agyarko was a pharmacist, medical doctor and a politician born on December 10, 1957, at Odumase Krobo in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

He obtained Bachelor of Science in pharmacy at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 1982 and was once the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Food and Drug Authority (FDA).
